Briefly About Me

I work as researcher and teaching assistant at the Institute of Phonetics at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Prague. I received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and information technology at the university CTU in Prague, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. I am interested in digital signal processing, I have made a Ph.D. and master thesis at the Department of Circuit Theory in Biological Signal Laboratory on a subject of analysis of brain activity in (EEG). I have a teaching experience in digital signal processing courses on FEE CTU in Prague and Phonetic courses at Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague.

I program in C#, C++, Java and Matlab, I also know Basic and some other programming languages. I can program since I can read and write and it is my big hobby. You can download and try some of my interesting programs at these pages.

My hobby is constructing and repairing of everything, especially of things related to weak current electrotechnics, which I have successfuly graduated at Secondary Technical School in Liberec. I had a lot of great teachers and our class was perfect society so I gladly thing back to these years.
My biggest work in the weak current construction is a complete design and making of a metronome, which is good both for determinate a beat when we play music and also good as a tuner. It was a lot of work but it was very fun for me and I am satisfied that my electrical education has a practical usage. I use the metronome happily up to the present day.

My greatest hobby is music. I have already listened a lot in my life so I like a lot of music styles. I mostly like classic music and jazz. I am a big fan of The Modern Jazz Quartet, because they managed to connect both styles together.

I have mentioned the guitar - I have been learning it since the end of the basic school. First two years I was taught by Pavel Havlík, who likes blues and thanks to him I started to listen other music styles that are often played in a radio. Then I started to learn at The Basic Music School in Liberec (ZUŠ Liberec) and I was taught by guitarist Vlastimil Macháček, which managed to learn me a classic guitar style technic in a very short time, he also taught me a lot of nice solo compositions. I have participated in a national guitar competition and I did not make him a shame. You can download and listen to some of the records from this era on these pages. In March 2002 I went with a symphonic orchestra of our music school to Netherlandish Amersfoort where I performed two solo compositions infront of hundreds of people. I prefer playing in a guitar ensemble at this time.

I have learned playing in guitar ensamble under the direction of Věra Párysová, she is very kind teacher and I still cooperate with her. This is the area, which I like the most, because with more guitars we can play more complicated compositions and also we are more relaxed than in solo guitar playing. We have got guitar ensemble La Follia and we play at the various places and it is always a great fun. I have written several compositions for a guitar quartet, which you can download in My Hobbies section. We collaborated with German guitar orchestras in Hoyerswerda and Rheine, both have approximately 40 members. We had an united Christmas concert in December 2005 where we played mainly old music like Bach etc. During next months we have studied accompaniment to a ballet on a fairy tale theme The Wizard of Oz, the music was written by the contemporary German composer Lars Wüller. The music is strange at the first listening but after more thoroughly listenings it is very interesting and funny. The first appearance was in the spring 2006 in full house F.X. Šalda's Theatre in Liberec, then we had concerts in Hoyerswerda, Bamberg, Haagen and Rheine.

In 2008/2009 I played on Spanish guitar in musical Man of La Mancha in orchestra under the direction of Dalibor Tuž. It was a great experience and I would like to thank everyone who helped this project to exist. Website of Man of La Mancha musical.

In recent time, I am a member of Prague Chamber Guitar Orchestra and we play on many concerts in Czech republic and also foreign countries.

About my sports, I prefer rather recreational and relatively safe sports. I like cycling on forest paths which we have a lot around Liberec. In recent years, I enjoy canoeing on our rivers.

I used to make paper craft models in the past, my largest works are the third part of the Monumental Old City Model (MPR III) from the ABC magazine and Howl's Moving Castle. This activity gradually practically faded away from my life because of time reasons.
